Okoh Law Firm provides legal services to individuals with disabilities in Eastern North Carolina. At Okoh Law Firm, we believe that everyone should have access to services to which they are entitled and an equal opportunity to live a full and productive life. Okoh Law Firm focuses primarily on providing legal services in the areas of special education, Social Security Disability Insurance, and Veterans Compensation.

Okoh Law Firm was founded by Michele Okoh. Prior to Okoh Law Firm, Michele Okoh worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the 7th Judicial District. She also worked for the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office where she represented the Division of Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and the Social Work Board. Through her work, she learned that there was a lack of legal representation available to individuals with disabilities. While she worked for the State of North Carolina, many individuals came to her with questions regarding legal issues related to their disabilities. However, as an attorney for the State of North Carolina, she could not provide them with any advice. When she attempted to refer them to resources to help them, she learned that there were few available. She created Okoh Law Firm to address this need.

Michele Okoh has always had a passion for social justice. As a law student at Duke University School of Law, she served as a Lead Editor for Duke Forum for Law and Social Change.  She also served as a fellow for Judge Allyson Duncan on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and with the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
